BS EN1729

The New Standard Recent Government Statistics have suggested that children are becoming both bigger, and taller, than they were 20 years ago. To this end the Industry has produced new chair and table sizes to accommodate this. The ones you have been buying for the last twenty years are still available, but we have decided to include the new sizes to allow you to make the choice. If at all unsure call one of our Team. The new European guide for classroom furniture aims to address health and safety issues such as back pain and low pupil concentration levels. The new standard, BS EN1729 is specifically for tables, desks and chairs used in UK schools.

You DO NOT need to throw out your old furniture and where possible dfe staff will do their best to match to your existing furniture where manufacturers still have complementing products available. If in doubt, please call on 0345 3 58 59 60?and we will be happy to help.
